Evercam and Mercury Engineering Partnership
European Construction Leader Mercury Engineering has announced the formal expansion of its three-year partnership with fellow Irish-based construction reality capture trailblazer, Evercam. Mercury's decision to implement Evercam's unique visibility software across all of their project sites has resulted in dramatically improved project delivery.
Using a single reality capture platform in the world of Mission-Critical construction is unusual, but in this case, Mercury's choice comes as no surprise. Evercam's technology, matched by peerless attention to data privacy, has established them as the standard for compliance, accuracy, and customer service, capable of supporting any project, from blueprints to blue-tape walk-through. Through frameworks like SOC2, ISO 27001, and strict attention to GDPRs, Evercam perpetually demonstrates their commitment to compliance by meeting regulatory requirements at local and national levels. Implementing Evercam across the board has given Mercury a measurable performance advantage in the competitive mission-critical sector.
Leading the deal are Jeff Deasy, Managing Director at Evercam, and Seamus Reilly, Operations Director for Mercury's Enterprise Data Centers business unit. The two Dublin-based professionals have been working together for a number of years.
“We’ve had a front-row seat to the level of excellence Mercury brings to every project,” said Jeff Deasy, Managing Director at Evercam. “This partnership reflects the momentum we’ve already built together on some of Europe’s most advanced construction projects. It’s about scaling what works and ensuring Mercury’s delivery teams have the visual tools and integrated data they need to enhance coordination, accelerate decision-making, and continue setting the standard for mission-critical construction.”
Recognising the potentially complementary relationship between Mercury and Evercam early on, Deasy and Reilly have been instrumental in communicating the value of this partnership to their respective companies, shepherding the Mercury-Evercam relationship to where it is today.
"We've seen firsthand how Evercam's platform improves project delivery, safety, and coordination at scale. This partnership reflects the momentum we've already built together on some of Europe's most advanced construction projects," says Reilly. "At Mercury, we're constantly looking for the latest and greatest technology to help us successfully deliver large-scale projects."
Mercury Engineering
Mercury is the European leader in construction solutions, building and managing complex engineering and construction projects for the world's foremost corporations. What began in 1972 as a small electrical contractor operating out of a Dublin apartment, Mercury has established itself as a European force for good, driving innovation on mission-critical construction projects in the spirit of founders Frank O'Kane and Joe Morgan.
Mercury became known for bringing economic growth to Ireland's economy by forging a path into new and innovative sectors. Today, Mercury continues to drive economic growth in communities across Europe through solutions that deliver necessary technologies and life-changing improvements.
In 2020, Mercury hit €1 billion in revenue, cementing its position as a leading construction solutions provider and establishing the company as one of the best places to work in Europe.
Evercam
Similar to Mercury's modest beginnings, Evercam was the brainchild of Wicklow native Marco Herbst. Observing the limitations of CCTV in the mid-aughts, Herbst began experimenting with recordings sparked by the simple idea that "this (his live-stream recording of the street outside his window) could be useful to someone." Joined by longtime business partner Vinnie Quinn, the pair soon realised the usefulness of visual data for the construction industry, where cameras were not yet being implemented for purposes beyond surveillance.
Herbst and Quinn had already seen one business success together when they sold their first venture, Nixers.com and Jobs.ie back in 2005. Fast forward to now, and the same furious pursuit of problem solving and fervent curiosity form the culture of their current business: the rapidly-growing international company, Evercam. What began as an idea about how cameras could aid construction is now a globally recognized reality-capture platform utilised on over 1200 live construction sites in more than 24 countries.
Expanding a High-Performance Partnership
This agreement deepens a collaboration that is already delivering tangible results across some of the most sophisticated projects in Europe. One example of these high-profile, multi-phase projects is Digital Realty's PAR10, part of the Paris Digital Park. The Paris campus consists of multiple data centers, totalling 130 MW of power and 40,000 square meters of whitespace. Like many global data centre projects, each data centre within the Paris Digital Park features advanced capabilities, including reliable power supply, efficient cooling, advanced monitoring systems, and high-density power racks with innovative free cooling technology.
Implementing Evercam on sites like these gives management teams the ability to remotely monitor the site anytime, anywhere. Project visuals are integrated into daily workflows with insights from live monitoring, drone views, and helmet-mounted 360 cams. The platform offers insights into weather, site deliveries and activities; as well as a unique Project Timeline feature that allows users to pull up any period within the life of the project and examine it closely, or compare it with any other date and time.
Mercury also takes advantage of Evercam's BIM integration faculty and time-lapse video production to enhance progress reporting and stakeholder engagement.
"Adopting a single, integrated solution across our sites allows us to work smarter and move faster - without compromising on compliance or quality," comments Reilly. "This partnership is key to our strategy, enabling us to lead the way in providing cutting-edge construction solutions to our valued clients."
The Total Package
Ultimately, Evercam has won the day by making the costly decision to record more frequently and save data more thoroughly than any of their competitors. Their eight-frame-per second live recording schedule drastically reduces ambiguity, and three levels of data backup eliminate the risk of lost footage. Clients frequently report that the constancy of Evercam's recording is one of the singular features that has protected these large firms from liability, loss, theft, and costly miscommunication.
In addition to these benefits, Mercury has secured this enterprise agreement as a way to package multiple services within one platform, reducing the overall price tag for visibility tools crucial to safety and daily operations that would otherwise be hired piecemeal.
Perhaps even more importantly, Mercury has avoided the cluster of headaches that arise from having privacy-protected data in different places. Evercam establishes one common data environment where Mercury can access any time to fluidly meet compliance and regulatory standards all over the world. Evercam meets European Union General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR), and has archived similarly relevant attestations like SOC2 and ISO 27001.
To further support clients, Evercam has implemented practical visual AI use cases to their platform. Together, Mercury and Evercam developed and successfully piloted an AI-driven capability to ensure full PPE compliance across Mercury's projects. "We like Evercam's approach to technology development," says Reilly. "They listen to our needs and collaborate with us on product developments and roadmap."
From Boise Idaho to Saudi Arabia and regions beyond, Evercam stays abreast of their clients when it comes to compliance standards and data privacy. Together, category leaders Mercury and Evercam are building on an existing foundation to increase impact, improve workflows, and enhance project visibility on a global scale.
Faster, Safer, Smarter
The expanded partnership between Evercam and Mercury signals the winning flag for the rapidly scaling Irish company. In a little over a decade, Evercam has gone from a camera installation business to the reality capture partner on the largest construction projects in the world, adopted by dominant players in the Life Sciences, Semiconductor, and Data Centre spaces.
For Mercury, choosing to adopt Evercam on every site is a calculated move to gain an edge in a competitive global market by dramatically reducing risk and increasing efficiency. At a time when construction firms are under pressure to deliver faster, safer, and smarter, this collaboration demonstrates how necessary innovators are in the AEC world—and how legacy firms are increasingly turning to agile technology partners to stay ahead.
